Transparent Select Ver1.2.1(Blender 2.8~4.3 Addon)
Add-on description
This add-on allows you to temporarily make the mesh transparent by pressing Alt + left dragging the mouse, and then box-select the mesh behind it.
Normally, you need to make the mesh transparent once to select the mesh behind it, but by using this, you can omit the step before that.
In addition to Alt + left dragging the mouse, there are other functions such as the following.

Transparent box selection (subtractive selection)

How to install the add-on
Just install the downloaded zip file as is.
There is no need to unpack (unzip) it.
1. Select Preferences from Edit in the upper left of the Blender screen.
2. Select Addons in the center left of the Blender Preferences screen.
3. Select Install in the upper right.
4. Select the downloaded zip file and select Install Addons.
5. Check the displayed addons to enable them.
